      In achieving the goals and objectives of FLN, the role of the ECCE Policy visualizes nurturance and promotion of holistic development and active learning capacity for all children below 6 years of age by promoting free, universal, inclusive, equitable, joyful and contextualised opportunities for laying foundation and attaining full potential.

  30. FLN Mission is a big leap from what was to what ought to be. In the early years schools have always treated these two subjects (literacy and numeracy) as separate learning entitites. But with NEP 2020, it brings with it the need to see that these two are like two sides of a coin. The need is to prepare children right from their childhood stage and to develop a strong foundation of literacy and numeracy so as to enable them to acquire the proper skills when they get to higher levels of education. The emphasis is on holistic development of a child. ECCE, therefore, plays a pivotal role in achieving this goal (FLN) since it is specially designed for this purpose. The focus is not only on education but care for the child as well.

  171. FLN(Foundational Literacy and Numeracy ) ,as the name suggests , refers to the education on basic and elementary literacy skills and capabilities, along with counting numeracy abilities provided to children up to the third standard (class III).
    ECCE (Early Childhood Care Education) is an education programme which aims to develop a child not only academically, but emotionally , cognitively, and socially as well. In simple words , it aims the- all round development of the child.
