    1. For language a child need to communicate more frequently in mother tongue and introduced bit by bit a foreign language so as the child will be able to understand the language when it comes into its uses. For Literacy and numeracy it's a coin with two side which goes side by side.

Assessments for language literacy can be done by allowing the children with out let them know that assessment is going on for them.For examples ,story telling ,reading with comprehension,activities organize for them At that check their social personality.Then block making, picture arrangement with pattern.In the process of assessing keep all the portfolio of the children for records.

    1. Provide different activities through the play-way method in order to assess their interaction with each other and learn more of their capacities in the math and manipulative area.
    2. Use reading and recitation to learn of their concept of print.
    3. Ask open-minded questions to assess their understanding and ability to interpret the concepts, on their own.

  16. For language and literacy, its important for children to socialise and interact with their environment. Language and literacy can also be learned by teaching phonics to the children. Learning should be in a fun and engahing manner with the help of ppems, songs, rhythm and movements.
    Numeracy can also be taught in a fun way through play way method, use of toys, and abacus.

  25. In literary practices we include letter reading, filling,writing and reading comprehension and vocabulary and so on. In numeracy we provide guiding principles for communicating numbers in a clear and simple way. An example of numeracy skills are different calculations to understand the relationship between numbers such as addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication at a primary stage or level.

    2. Observed at children work play, performance, nothing their behaviour learning and recording their specific behaviour.
    3.To ensure early identification of learning disability and potential ability.

    Language assessment :-Rubrics and performance criteria ,general discussion , oral presentation or performance ,written assessment , portfolio .
    Literature assessment:-phonics or spelling ,poems , story telling, games ,toys , reading and writing , play materials .
    Numeracy assessment :-
    Use many games to children which have their roots in mathematical concepts /ideas , chess , rubics cube , suduku , quizzes , puzzles , creating a sense of curiosity even for simple concept , engages students in a playful manner.

The activities are to be planned in such a manner that observing children’s performance and progress are a part of the pedagogical practices, rather than making assessment a separate or a formal task. The assessment has to be weaved into the teaching-learning practices/ games/ play with toys/ asking questions in depth, etc.

    The teachers need to look for the following in foundational literacy and numeracy development in children that would guide the teachers about the progress of learning in FLN:

    • Use language to express their ideas.
    • Combine letters to make words.
    • Provide new words to poems/songs.
    • Follow the print from left to right.
    • Follow directions during class activities.
    • Listen to the story and talk about the story.
    • Notice the letters, words in story books, magazines, food wrappers, etc.
    • Touch and count.
    • Create using shape cut-outs.
    • Describe the size, shape, colour and position.
    • Control their eye-hand coordination as they stack/build blocks.
    • Use mathematical vocabulary.

    (1) For language assessment
    I would allow my children to communicate frequently in their mother tongue or the language that they are comfortable with. And also by using oral presentations or performances.
    (2) For literacy assessment
    By having reading and writing assessment which include phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency and so on.
    (3) For numeracy assessment
    By using play-way method and toys.

Having aware of the various assessments strategies that we can use for students some of the practices that will be helpful in assessing, literacy and numeracy it is important to first understand the student's interest and make sure that the goal to the topic is related to their interest so that it is easier for the child to understand, to communicate and interact. From what they can grasp and formulate, as a teacher it is easier to assess their achievements.
