Alloting separate room for toy area because children learn faster through this. We can get ample ideas from children to make our classroom learning effective. Different coloured papers, shoe boxes, old socks, bangles, egg tray, caps of bottles, waste of pencils , bottles to make varieties of toys.All the materials can be reused . It's just needed your creativity to shape those. Every child is unique and we can get varieties of ideas . We should provide our children proper place and environment.

Toys will interest them and keep them engaged. Paper, wood, blocks which are child friendly are some essential materials that can be used for D-I-Y toys.

ReplyDeleteI would create a Toy Area by often repurposing items that we may throw away. By doing so we can recycle items and show students how to be resourceful by rising the items that might be discarded at home. Items included may be soft fabric, plastic bottles, buttons and beads,paper bags, Cartoon boxes,etc. However we must take care to ensure that the item's used by children are safe accordingly to the childrens age and understanding promoting a DIY sense of thought.

ReplyDeleteTo help children in creating DIY toys we can have materials as paper plates, old socks - to make puppets of, newspapers, bottle caps, shoe boxes, egg trays and many more that will evoke the childrens creative side in creation of the DIY toys which will help.them learn and understand the various concepts that are being taught in relation to their various subjects.
Activities like dancing, singing, drama, music, art and craft, pushing, pulling, standing, sitting, bending, walking, running, balancing, jumping, throwing, catching, etc.

Teaching and learning activities should create interest among the students. Students learn better through joyful learning. A Toy area in the classroom can be created in the centre of the classroom which encourage the children to take part in their own learning activities.

DIY toys from recycled materials are a great way to save money, entertain the students , and make learning fun! These toys can be used again and again, but they can also be transformed into new things when they become too boring.
Mat, cardboard, paper, cotton, matchstick and color is needed to create DIY toys.
ReplyDeleteEducational toys are linked to developing sensory-motor skills in children. Colorful and vibrant lights and sound enhance the sense of sight in small kids. Crafty toys and activities improve fine motor skills in older kids. This will further promote better personality and communication skills in kids.
ReplyDeletePuzzles, similar to blocks, support children's development in a variety of ways. As children solve puzzles, they are utilizing problem-solving skills, hand-eye coordination, fine-motor skills, shape recognition, memory, spatial-awareness skills.
Some of the materials I recommend for the manipulative center are: links, wood puzzles, floor puzzles, peg puzzles, shape sorters, counting and sorting toys, a balancing scale, matching games and activities, pegboards, nuts and bolts, dressing boards, dominos, sorting boards, tanagrams, magnets and magnetic boards.
Use an empty room for this.If there is none,one can use the corner of a corrider. We can collect cardboard boxes,papers,pebbles,empty bottles etc

A corner in a classroom can be turned into a TOY AREA, where a swing or a small slide can be installed, hopscotch grid can be created and even a mural can be painted on the walls. Material to create D-I-Y toys are easily available and can be made from discarded materials, for example, Puzzles: we need sheets of paper, cardboard, colour pencils or crayons, safety scissors and glue.

The TOY AREA is one of the interest areas in addition to block building, maths or discovery area. This area needs to have the loose materials, low-cost/no-cost materials, environment materials like cones, pines, dry leaves, seeds, feathers, bottle caps, lids, spools, paper cups and paper plates and also various sizes of bowls, cardboard boxes, child-friendly scissors, empty jars, books, straws, eye droppers, variety of papers, magazines, flexible waste wires, and so on.
ReplyDeleteThis area must include age and developmentally appropriate traditional Indian toys. These must not be too small in size keeping in mind the safety of small children.
The toys and loose materials/props should be organised on the open shelves that are easily accessible by children and arrangements can be made as follows:
• Use the walls near the toy area to hang some of their D-I-Y toys that children have develop or prepared.
• Hang the children’s photograph engaged in designing something.
• Make sure everything in the toy area is meant for play and creating and must be developmentally appropriate.
• Keep certain props that children can use in their creation.
• Sort the loose parts according to the shapes, colours and size in labelled boxes or baskets.
A corner area in the classroom can be used as Toy Area for children where we can keep all the toys made by children.
